Pregnancy is an amazing thing. I can go from being so uncomfortable, sad, in pain from heart burn/cramps, to being so incredibly happy that I’m about to welcome my own son into this world.
I’ve been off work since January due to cramping and discomforts that put me high-risk for preterm labour if I continued working. It has been tough not working because not only do I love my job, I am finding myself incredibly bored considering I’m not allowed to do much at all but relax. I just have to focus on the fact that I’m doing what’s best for my little bean, and keeping him in longer is going to be the best outcome! I am getting braxton hicks contractions daily, and they are not fun. Cramping has been driving me crazy, but it stops when I stop, so another reminder to relax. Next on my list to go get a blood test to make sure my liver is functioning. Yay!
My amazing parents bought us a travel system and I am so so so happy with it. My mom and I went out, and spent a day together trying strollers. Having something that was super light weight, and easy to collapse was HIGH up on my list due to my back injury from a car accident, and I have to say I am very happy with the one we chose.
I ended up selecting the Britax B-Agile 3 stroller, along with the B-Safe 35 Elite Car seat. Usually you can get the Travel system from Babiesrus.ca (this link) for $599.99 however this comes with the B-Safe 35 Car seat and not the Elite. There really isn’t TOO much of a difference between the two products but I lucked out with a great sale on the Elite at TJ’s in Victoria, and ended up only paying $249.99 for the car seat when it is regularly $329.99. The Elite has a bit more padding around the neck and head and it grows with your baby. It is a lot easier to adjust the straps on the Elite, than it is on the regular B-Safe 35. The stroller was $329.99 from Babies R Us, and so the whole shebang only costed $579.98 + tax! Cheaper than getting the Travel System AND getting a better product. If anybody is looking for a deal, reach out to TJ’s directly and see what they’ve got on sale as they don’t share those sales with the website or any other stores!
The carseat is being sent to the Victoria store this week as that store was out of the colour I wanted, but I got to get the stroller right away and I am in love with how easy it is so maneuver, and collapse. It is less than 18lbs, and that makes a huge difference for me considering the others I was looking at averaged around 30 lbs! No thanks! It is a great height for both myself, and for Chris which also is a plus for me. So far all 3 cats have tried sleeping in it, so it is now packed away in the crawl space until baby gets here.
I finally took some pictures of myself, exposing the belly :O, with my camera, NOT my iPhone. Having Wi-Fi on my camera means I can wirelessly control it from my phone, an app called Canon camera connect, and be able to take some nice self portraits! It’s amazing how much smaller my belly looks when it is not clothed, and let me tell you, the public is NOT afraid to tell me how small I look. Anytime somebody I don’t know asks how far along I am, and I tell them, they say “NO WAY!” Yes way. Trust me. I know. My midwife, Kate, told me that because of my abdominal muscles I am not showing as much, but to me, I am HUGE! 😛 Also very proud that those muscles are still there.. Phew! Here are some of the pics I snapped featuring my new nursing bra from Thyme. It is amazing. I love it. LOVE LOVE LOVE. And check out the stroller, and Carseat if you’re looking to purchase one any time soon. (I did get the Carseat in the
