As many of you know, I have started with Young Living Essential Oils. Now, I am sure many of you are unaware of the fact that at least 1/3 of Young Living’s products are not oils! They truly make it easy for you to live a plant based lifestyle.

When I first signed up with YL I was a little unsure about the monthly order. (Don’t get me wrong, you CAN be a wholesale member for free.) YL’s monthly order is called Essential Rewards(ER), and it is a great perks program to use to fulfill your wish list, while on a budget. Not to mention the 10-25% back in points which can be used to buy products! You must buy at least 50 points (PV) worth each month if you are wanting to get rewards. A GREAT benefit is if you buy 100, 190, 250 or 300 PV worth you’re getting free oils!! This month I got 3 free oils for buying 190PV worth! I got a 15ml Eucalyptus Globulus, a 5ml RC, and a 5ml Carrot Seed – all a $76.65 value. Nothing wrong with that! R.C. is one of the oils that come in the Premium Starter Kit as well.

This month is the best month to sign up for ER because there is a bonus; “Between January 1st to 31st, 2018, all new ER enrollments and reactivations* on ER will receive 20% back in ER points for their first month!” So instead of 10% back in points, you’re getting 20%. Double the points! If you continue into February; “ER enrollees and reactivations on ER from January 2018 who place a second consecutive ER order of at least 50+ PV, will earn a free Reusable Shopper’s Tote!”, and finally, continuing into March; “If you are a new ER enrollee or reactivated on ER and place a third consecutive ER order, of at least 50+ PV, you will earn your first loyalty oil; a FREE Grapefruit 15 ml.**” AND “If you have three consecutive ER orders of 100+ PV, you’ll earn Grapefruit 15 ml plus a FREE DewDrop Diffuser!***”

*ER reactivations are members who did not process an ER order in December 2017, but who enrolled for the first time OR re-enrolled in ER during January 2018.
**Re-enrolled ER members who have previously earned the 3-month ER loyalty oil will not receive a second loyalty oil.
***All new and re-enrolled ER members active on ER January 2018 through March 2018 will qualify for the free DewDrop Diffuser even if the re-enrolled member has already received a free DewDrop Diffuser as part of our ER loyalty program. Re-enrolled members who have already claimed the free Aromalux Diffuser after nine consecutive months on ER will not qualify for a second free Aromalux Diffuser.

The thing about this company is I’m not using them to just sell Essential Oils. I have the intentions to start living a plant based lifestyle, and getting rid of the toxic chemicals that are in my home. At first I thought spending that money each month is a lot, but then I was reminded by somebody in my “up-line”, I was buying these household items ANYWAYS. I’m buying toothpaste, laundry detergent, dish soap, lemons, hand creams, shampoo, hand soap, household cleaner, lip balm, makeup… and I got to thinking, I am NOT spending more each month, I’m just spending it better! Not to mention the YL products are so pure, and concentrated that you don’t have to use large amount at all.

Recently I’ve been making some of my own products and I’m here to share!

I made a lavender and lemon lip balm and it is HEAVENLY! I used coconut oil, shea butter, a bit of bees wax and my oils. My lips feel so soft and smooth. My fiancé Chris brought a tube with him while skiing and he said his lips stayed nice and moisturized all day. 😀

DIY LIP BALM

Ingredients

  • 10 drops ofYoung Living Essential Oils (I used lemon and lavender but it is personal preference!)
  • 1 tbsp of coconut oil
  • 1 tbsp of bees wax
  • 1 1/2 tbsp of shea butter

Directions

  1. In a double boiler, melt your coconut oil, shea butter, and bees wax.
  2. Once melted, remove from heat and add in your essential oils.
  3. Quickly mix together and pour into lip balm tubes! If your mixture hardens then just put it back on the double boiler to soften again but ideally you shouldn’t heat up your oils so try to avoid this if possible!

In my recipe I didn’t add anything for colour but this is definitely doable, and can still be all natural!

You can add things such as cinnamon, cacao powder, beetroot powder.. even using certain oils will change the colour, such as lemon making mine yellow!
