One thing I have always been super passionate about is sustainability, and eliminating waste in my life. When I was in High school I was a part of a recycling group, yep, I am that cool! We even had T-Shirts. Being able to support small businesses who share the same mindset as me is always a goal of mine. That is why I am so happy to be able to support Tru Earth. If you haven’t heard of them yet, they are a Canadian company that started out with creating a Laundry Detergent eco-strip right in Vancouver BC in the spring of 2019. These eco-strips eliminate the big plastic jug that is supposed to be recycled, but almost always ends up in the landfill. Tru Earth announced on October 22nd 2020 that they have prevented more than 2-million non-compostable laundry jugs from reaching landfills. As of the October the total amount was 2,026,556. In nearly 2 years, that is an amazing accomplishment! I am blown away. Imagine how much more they could achieve if everybody switched from their laundry detergent to Tru Earth.
I am proud to be able to support this company, and I am also pleased to say that the laundry strips WORK. You simply add one strip to your washing machine, add your clothes like normal, and start your load, that’s it! No special instructions, no waste, and clean clothes. The Fresh Linen scent is mild which is lovely if you are like me and can’t stand the heavy artificial laundry detergent smell. You can also choose an unscented version, or a baby version. They even have a “Platinum” eco-strip which is perfect for those heavier messes, and if you have young kids like me, you need a little extra strength here and there. Another huge factor for me is the ingredients used in household products and luckily, Tru Earth does not disappoint. The eco-strips are paraben-free, phosphate-free, dye-free, free from Chlorine bleach, they’re hypoallergenic, vegan AND biodegradable. The list goes on! The eco-strips come I’m very minimal packaging which makes for easy organization in the laundry room. We just moved houses and I a, so happy to be able to have a separate laundry room where I can have all my Tru Earth laundry strips on display! Would anybody be interested in a house tour blog?!
Being a part of the #TruEarthMovement brings me a lot of joy, and knowing that me supporting this company is doing that much more for our planet. The #TruEarthMovement has 3 core values:
